Chemical spill in Northfield

Action in Northfield! Hot damn! Trip and I walked from the bike shop over to the train wreck by Dairy Queen about an hour ago to take some pictures. Every time I stopped and aimed my camera a police officer would tell us to move along, but I used the zoom feature to the max and got some OK shots. I emailed them to northfield.org and they were posted promptly. Go here for the whole lot of 'em.

Green-themed shenanigans

Nick Double-U and Mole had a little party last night. Things happened, things tipped over, things broke, and things were photographed- things that should never have been photographed. Those things won't appear here.

Moustached, Scorched

Hot damn, 40 degrees! This means its time to bust out the 1982 (83?) Specialized Sequoia touring bike. Bought it from a local school teacher last fall, slapped on a set of my favorite handlebars and a Brooks B-66, some new cables, one tire and whole lot of polishing time. I absolutly love this thing. Its the only geared rig that I own, and I dig it.

On another note, one day last week I had the sudden urge to build an Ibis Scorcher tribute bike. When contemplating handlebars, Mike went into the darkest corner of the shop and emerged with some original Ibis crescent moon scorcher bars. He was too broke to buy a Scorcher when they came out, so he called up Ibis and ordered a set the bars instead. Anyway, here it is.
